Dani La Barrie, LCSW, QS, CAP – Recovery Coach and Licensed Psychotherapist
Dani La Barrie serves as a clinical partner to New York Intervention, bringing more than fifteen years of psychotherapy experience to the families NYI supports. As the founder of Affinity Care, Dani specializes in supporting ambitious women navigating heartbreak, codependency, and the emotional weight that often surfaces alongside a loved one’s addiction or recovery journey.
Dani earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology and her Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University. She began her clinical work in 2009 and has since served as a mental health therapist in Broward County’s Department of Juvenile Justice, a school-based therapist in the Florida Keys, an in-home family therapist working with at-risk youth, a clinical director of substance abuse treatment programs, and a clinical consultant helping to design and improve treatment programs across South Florida.
Her clinical depth spans substance use disorders, dual diagnoses, mental health disorders, personality disorders, addictive behaviors, and codependency. Across multiple roles as clinical director, overseeing partial hospitalization programming with community housing, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and aftercare services, Dani has built and refined the kind of treatment systems that hold complex clients steady. She has also helped launch new treatment centers from the ground up and stepped in to restructure programs that needed clinical leadership.
Today, Dani works primarily with women, equipping them with proven tools to move through intense emotions, navigate conflict, communicate with clarity, and set boundaries that hold. Her approach is grounded in the clinical rigor of her addiction and dual-diagnosis work, paired with a deep understanding of the women carrying the weight of someone else’s struggle. She helps clients reconnect to their worth from the inside, without leaning on an unfulfilling relationship or an unhealthy habit to fill the gap.
The work of recovery does not end when the person you love enters treatment. For partners, mothers, sisters, and daughters, that is often where the deeper work begins.
Working alongside the New York Intervention team, Dani offers families a clear referral path for the women in their lives who need their own dedicated space to do the work, whether that is a partner stepping out of codependency, a mother grieving the version of her child she once imagined, or a daughter learning that her worth was never tied to whether she could fix anyone.
