Spencer Gharrity – Professional Outreach and Development
Spencer began working with individuals and families affected by addiction in 2012 as an Intake Coordinator for a treatment center. Since that time, he has helped hundreds of families navigate the challenges of substance use disorders, treatment placement, and early recovery. His experience spans initial crisis response, admissions coordination, and long-term recovery planning. That depth of experience informs every conversation he has today, whether with a family in crisis or a clinician seeking the right placement for a client.
Having been through addiction treatment himself and maintaining long-term sobriety, Spencer brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his work. This combination allows him to approach families and colleagues with authenticity, empathy, and practical insight. He understands firsthand the fear, resistance, and uncertainty that often accompany early recovery — and he knows what sustainable change requires.
You don’t have to face addiction alone — not as the person struggling, and not as the family watching. Let’s build the connections, support, and accountability that make lasting recovery possible.
Spencer is passionate about empowering individuals to build lives they are genuinely excited to live. He believes recovery is not simply about abstinence, but about purpose, connection, and accountability. He attributes much of his personal success in sobriety to developing a strong family support system and understands the essential role families play in long-term outcomes.
Through his outreach efforts, Spencer is committed to strengthening collaborative networks across New York and beyond, ensuring that professionals have a knowledgeable and responsive partner when complex intervention, placement, and family support services are needed.
